Audition Information

Rehearsals start September 2, 2025 and will run Mon-Thurs from 7-10pm

Audition Dates

May 9th from 6-9pm

May 10th from 6-9pm

Callbacks May 11th from 7-9pm

As long as you check in prior to the end time, you will be allowed to audition.

In-person auditions are located at Twin Falls Theatre Collective. 310 Main St, Filer, ID 83328.

November 1, 3, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 14, and 15th at 7:00 pm
November 2, 8, 9, and 16th at 2:00 pm

Plus an additional Veteran’s Free Performance is currently scheduled for October 30th (last night of tech) but may be changed.

Audition Requirements

Cast Size: 5 Female, 5 Male
Dance Requirements: Standard

All female roles will need to learn some French. Louise Lebreton will need to carry a French accent the entire show as well as articulate more French than the other women. One of the Lt or Pvt men will need to be able to speak with a German accent as well as some French within the scope of his characters.
 
Music:
Prepare no more than 32 bars of a musical number. Bring backing tracks or an accompanist with you. Prepare to sing scales. 

Female vocal ranges are from G3 to C6/Bb5

Male vocal ranges are from A3 to G5

 

 

Dance:

Please watch the choreo videos and be prepared to dance during your audition. The track used for the choreo is here:

 The dance portion starts at 2:00 and goes until 2:20.

Below are sides to prepare for your audition.

 

– For all ladies auditions, regardless of the role desired, please prepare the side for Grace.

-For Riser prepare side 1, Pershing side 2, if the other 3 male characters, please prepare either side (all sides are on the ‘Riser Sides’ pdf).

Keep in mind, there will likely be additional cold reads requested at auditions/callbacks to hear accents.

If submitting a video audition, please have your video ready before submitting your audition application as you’ll need to submit your video link. Please put your music, choreo and reading in one video. 

Character Breakdown

 
All women presenting 18-35 years.
 
Grace Banker (Soprano) — Articulate and poised, with a core of steely strength that makes itself apparent as she grows into her role as leader.
 
Suzanne Prevot (Alto) — From New York City. Feisty, sardonic, tough-talking. A close friend of Grace’s from AT&T.
 
Helen Hill (Soprano) — From Idaho. A typical small-town farm girl… Sweet, over-enthusiastic, wholesomely kooky and prone to nervous panic.
 
Bertha Hunt (Alto) — Married to a Navy doctor who is also serving. Older, wiser, reliable – The Den Mother. Extremely knowledgeable about military matters.
 
Louise Lebreton (2nd Soprano) — 18. Fearless, flirty, headstrong and often insubordinate. Born in France, she has family fighting with the French army.
 
Cpt. Joseph Riser — The Signal Corps officer who recruits and trains the women. A career army man, a stickler for rules and order, he is skeptical of the women’s presence in the army. Age range 25-45.
 
Lt. Ernest Wessen/Ackerson/Man 1 — Head of the recruiting center for the Signal Corps. Age range late teens to 40.
 
Pvt. Eugene Matterson/Spy/Man 2 — An enlisted man who works closely with Lt. Riser. Age range 20-40
 
Pvt. Robert Dempsey/German Prisoner/Man 3 — A Signal Corps operator at the Paris Telephone Exchange. Age range 20-40
 
Gen. John Pershing — Commander of the American Expeditionary Forces. Hard, relentless, inflexible, with a deep sense of honor and American individualism and identity. Age range 40+
 
Casting Note:

With the exception of Capt. Riser and Gen. Pershing, the men all play a variety of supporting roles
